Romantic Cast Iron Steak Dinner with Garlic Rice & Charred Asparagu

1 large ribeye or NY strip (or two smaller steaks)

1 tbsp butter

1 bunch asparagus, ends trimmed
1 tbsp olive oil
Salt & pepper
For the Garlic Herb Rice
2 cups cooked rice (warm)
2 tbsp butter
1 clove garlic, minced
2 tbsp chopped parsley
Salt & pepper to taste
For the Chimichurri (Optional but incredible)
½ cup parsley, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, grated
1 tbsp red wine vinegar
3 tbsp olive oil
Pinch of chili flake
Salt & pepper
How to Make This Date-Night Dinner
1️⃣ Prep the Chimichurri (Optional but Sexy)
Mix parsley, garlic, vinegar, olive oil, chili flakes, salt, and pepper.
Set aside — it gets even better as it sits.
2️⃣ Sear the Steak
Heat your cast iron pan over medium-high until hot.
Add olive oil, then steak — press it gently for a good crust.
Cook 3–4 minutes per side, depending on thickness.
Add butter, garlic, and herbs.
Spoon the melted butter over the steak for 1–2 minutes.
Remove and rest (resting = juiciness).
3️⃣ Char the Asparagus
In the same skillet, add a drizzle of olive oil.
Cook asparagus 4–5 minutes until blistered and bright.
Season with salt and pepper.
4️⃣ Make the Garlic Herb Rice
Melt butter in the skillet.
Add garlic and sauté 30 seconds.
Stir in cooked rice, parsley, salt, and pepper.
Warm everything through until fragrant.
5️⃣ Plate Like You Mean It
Slice the rested steak.
